Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) Waiver
HSTA waivers may be offered to students who are residents of West Virginia who successfully completed the Health Sciences and Technology Academy.
Important information for Promise scholars: The HSTA waiver and the Promise Scholarship may work together to cover an undergraduate student's full tuition and fees. However, as both programs are limited to tuition and fee costs specifically, HSTA and Promise combined cannot exceed university tuition, university fees, and college tuition. So while students do not need to choose between the two programs, one program may be reduced so it does not exceed tuition and fees. Some students choose to defer either HSTA or Promise if they expect that their program may take more than eight full-time semesters to complete. This allows them to have one of the programs available for later full-time semesters once they pass the eight-semester limit for the other program.
