American Legion State Waiver
An undergraduate tuition waiver is offered to the winner of the American Legion Department of West Virginia's High School Oratorical Scholarship Program. While no longer mandated under state policy, WVU continues to honor these waivers.
Eligible Students
Degree-seeking, undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelors, graduate, or professional degree.

Enrollment Requirements
Students must be enrolled full-time.
Limits
Students cannot receive waivers for more than eight undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelors degree, whichever comes first.
Additional Requirements
- Students must meet satisfactory academic progress for financial aid eligibility.
- This waiver is considered a WVU institutional scholarship and eligible students may submit the Scholarship Exception Request form to receive the waiver while enrolled half-time (under qualifying circumstances). More information is available on our Scholarship Exception Request webpage. Students must still meet the other conditions for the waiver. Students enrolled less than half-time are not eligible for this waiver at any of the WVU campuses.
