Separate Application Required for Morgantown (2025-2026)

Bucklew Scholarship
Value of Scholarship
$15,000 per year for up to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first.
How to Apply & Deadlines
Students must be a WV resident, attend and graduate from a West Virginia high school, and must be admitted to WVU as a degree-seeking first-time freshman by January 21, 2025. Home-schooled students who are WV residents must be home-schooled for at least their senior year in order to be eligible to apply.
Students who meet the admission deadline will be considered for scholarships based on submission of new high school transcripts or ACT/SAT scores if the information is updated on their WVU student record by January 21, 2025. Test scores are automatically processed when sent to WVU. However, for high school GPA changes, students must submit a GPA Update Request Form. High school GPA changes are not processed automatically.
Students eligible to apply will receive additional materials by mail for completion starting in late October 2024. Twenty first-time freshmen are offered the scholarship annually.
Eligibility
Students must meet all of the following eligibility criteria to be considered:
- Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.80
- Have a minimum ACT test score of 30 or an SAT test score of 1360
- Graduate from a West Virginia high school or have been home-schooled for at least their senior year in West Virginia
- Be chosen by scholarship selection committee
Please be aware that incoming students majoring in online programs of study are not eligible for institutional scholarships. Students beginning in on-campus majors will lose their institutional scholarship eligibility if they switch to an online program of study at any point.

Foundation Scholarship
Value of Scholarship
Covers cost of attendance as determined by financial aid for up to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first, plus a one-time $4,500 stipend for study abroad or academic enhancement. Students receiving the Promise Scholarship will receive the Foundation Scholarship less the Promise Scholarship amount.

Promise Scholarship
Value of Scholarship
Up to $5,500 per year for up to four undergraduate years. Promise cannot exceed the cost of tuition and fees not covered by other tuition-specific aid.

University Merit Scholarship
Value of Scholarship
This scholarship is valued at university tuition for four undergraduate years or a bachelor's degree - whichever comes first, plus a one-time $3,500 stipend for study abroad or academic enhancement.
How to Apply & Deadlines
Take the PSAT/NMSQT test as a junior in high school and be named a National Merit or Achievement Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. To receive the scholarship at WVU, finalists must select WVU as their first choice.
Eligibility
Minimum high school GPA of 3.50. Awarded to degree-seeking Morgantown students named National Merit or Achievement Finalists.
