Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Medical Laboratory Sciences: Gift aid based on academic performance and/or financial need. Scholarships can be offered by WVU or by an outside resource.
- Medical Laboratory Loans: Money that students borrow for college expenses which must be repaid (usually after college).
- Other HSC Scholarships: General scholarships for multiple HSC programs. Gift aid based on academic performance and/or financial need. Scholarships can be offered by WVU or by an outside source.
Medical Laboratory Sciences Scholarship Opportunities
Note: The following types of aid are offered by appropriate officials in the Medical Laboratory Science program. No separate scholarship application is required. However, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 for the upcoming academic year.
Mark Erwin Memorial Scholarship
Recipient must demonstrate the following qualities: friendship, loyalty, trust, willingness to help fellow students, and support of WVU. Selection will be made by the Medical Technology Class at the end of the junior year.
Frederick and Doris Holter Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to undergraduate students entering their senior year who show academic excellence and financial need. Money is awarded at convocation ceremony in May.
Dr. Betholene Love Medical Technology Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to students in the Medical Technology program at WVU.
Dane W. Moore Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to seniors enrolled in the Medical Technology program. Must demonstrate excellence in microbiology through academic performance in the program. Selection will be made by the Medical Technology Scholarship Committee.
Peggy Jean Witt Williams Memorial Fund
Scholarship awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional academics. Priority given to third-year students. First consideration of funds is for the WVU Scholars Program.

EJ Van Liere Medical Technology Emergency Loan Program
Emergency loan program to assist students who experience unusual or extraordinary circumstances. Selection and award amounts are determined by officials governing the Medical Technology program at WVU.
