International Scholarships for Spring 2020

West Virginia University strives to provide its students with an inclusive educational experience. We are pleased to offer incoming, freshmen international students the opportunity to receive academic scholarships.

Current scholarship information and values pertain to incoming freshmen for spring 2020 and is not retroactive to previous classes or currently enrolled students. Students entering WVU prior to the spring 2020 semester may have been offered different scholarships and/or amounts. Future students may also have different criteria or values.

For consideration, students must be admitted to certain campuses by the deadlines listed for each scholarship. Please review all information carefully.

International Scholarships

International Scholarship Level 1

Value of Scholarship

Students meeting this level will receive $3,500 per semester for up to 8 undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first.

How to Apply & Deadlines

Must be admitted to WVU as a first-time freshman by December 1, 2019.

Students who meet the admission deadline will be considered for scholarships (or increases to scholarships if applicable) based on submission of new high school transcripts if the information is updated on their WVU student record by January 15, 2020.

Eligibility

Students must have a minimum high school GPA of at least a 3.5.

Students must be enrolled full-time at the Morgantown campus to receive this scholarship.

Renewal Information

Review renewal requirements for all scholarships.

International Scholarship Level 2

Value of Scholarship

Students meeting this level will receive $3,000 per semester for up to 8 undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first.

How to Apply & Deadlines

Must be admitted to WVU as a first-time freshman by December 1, 2019.

Students who meet the admission deadline will be considered for scholarships (or increases to scholarships if applicable) based on submission of new high school transcripts if the information is updated on their WVU student record by January 15, 2020.

Students must be enrolled full-time at the Morgantown campus to receive this scholarship.

Students meeting this level will receive $2,500 per semester for up to 8 undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first.
